Fashion designer Nick Ondu is no more



Fashion designer Nick Ondu has succumbed to injuries he got after he was attacked by robbers.

Being an entrepreneur in the fashion industry, Nick took part in Barclay’s Kenya Open 2018 #BKO2018 jacket designer competition.

He brilliantly designed a jacket which made him the winner.

Most of the time you will see the Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol looking posh in their outfits, whether in their elegant, classy suits or ones with Ankara prints.

The late Nick Ondu.

Guess who is behind those ravishing looks, it’s none other than Nick Ondu himself.

He has been dressing them for quite a while now.

Until his demise, Nick owned the leading fashion house in Nairobi, Ankara Vintage.

Our sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Matiang’i asks leaders to take responsibility for supporters’ actions during elections



Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said that leaders will be held personally liable for actions their supporters will be involved in.

Speaking during a meeting with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, the Judiciary, and officials from the Interior Ministry, the CS said action will be taken against such leaders, including petitioning the IEBC to disqualify them from vying for public office.

“We will be presenting to the relevant agencies evidence and information we have of individual political actors who are engaged in incitement and mobilizing groups of people to disrupt meetings and they should take individual responsibility,” Matiang’i said.

Kenyans to enjoy reduced electricity tariff by 33 pc by December



The Ministry of Energy has put in place a detailed plan for reforms that will see the energy sector provide the citizenry with electricity that is accessible and affordable for both domestic and industrial use.

The Cabinet Secretary for Energy Amb. Dr. Monica Juma said the Government, through the Ministry of Energy is reviewing ways of generating energy that is of low cost and reducing tariffs for industries and domestic consumers while protecting the environment.

She said energy is a critical enabler to the government’s ‘Big Four’ Agenda, a need that has made the government to focus on addressing all the challenges facing the sector and in particular, boosting the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), to enable it provide effective services.

IEBC continues experiencing low voter registration turnout



Over 4.5 Million Kenyans are yet to register as voters even as mass voter registration exercise enters week 3.

Only 1.5 million voters have registered so far, with the exercise expected to close next week.

IEBC commissioner Justus Nyang’aya said this today in Nyeri county during the registration exercise at the Nyeri Maximum Prison in King’ong’o where the commission sought to register voters in the prison.
