Fraud: Spotlight on City Hall for fuelling vehicles in Kiambu

City Hall has been put on the spot for fuelling all its service vehicles at one particular Shell petrol station in Gigiri.

Nairobi County Assembly is seeking to be furnished with a comprehensive list of all vehicles owned by the county government between 2020 and 2021, and their service history.

The House Transport and Public Works Committee now wants the county executive to avail a breakdown of its expenditure on fuel and servicing of the county vehicles during the period in question.

Police arrest man who killed neibour over Sh400 debt

Police in Bomet have detained a man who killed his neighbour last night, over a Sh400 debt.

Evans Mutai who owns a shop at Sibaiyan location was arrested after he stabbed Festus Keter, 35, on the chest and went on to trade merchandise at his premises unperturbed.

The incident followed an argument over a Sh400 debt, which the deceased owed the shopkeeper. After being stabbed on the right side of the chest, Keter was left for dead outside the shop.

A concerned villager who stumbled on the body of the deceased, informed detectives based at Chesoen police station about the incident. The officers immediately rushed to the scene 10 kilometres away and conducted preliminary investigations into the murder, after which the suspect was apprehended.

The murder weapon a blood stained knife was also recovered and kept as exhibit. Mutai, shall be arraigned in court on Monday to answer to murder charges. Meanwhile the body of the deceased is lying at Longisa hospital mortuary pending postmortem.

Echesa involved in a bar brawl with OCS over woman

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa was on Thursday involved in a brawl over a woman in Mumias East sub county.

Police reports say that Echesa was involved in the brawl at Jose Lounge and Grill in Mumias involving the area’s Officer Commanding Station.

Rajab Munyendo reported that while they were drinking, someone touched a woman who was in the company of the OCS inappropriately.

This act led to a brawl between the two groups and that during the commotion, Munyendo’s Mercedes-Benz  was maliciously damaged by the OCS.

Munyendo also alleges that he lost Sh77,000 during the incident.

Police are investigating the incident.
