Malawian Boxer admits she lost fairly to her Kenyan opponent

Malawian soldier cum Boxer Anisha Basheel has admitted she lost fairly to her Kenya opponent Sarah Achieng during the just ended 22Bet sponsored light-welterweight title fight staged before a flowing crowd at the Nairobi Charter Hall.

Malawian Boxer promise Kenyans a fight they will relish

The Malawian Boxer who is the first female boxer to win a commonwealth title when she TKO’d Britain’s Sami Smith in the first round in 2018 was given a run for her money by her Kenyan opponent who was widely cheered by her enthusiastic fans.

“I don’t know what really went wrong at the ring.I had prepared well for the bout .Finishing the 10 rounds unscathed shows I was in the right frame.It was just bad luck but I’m ready for a rematch anytime, and anyplace” she observed.

The Malawian has won all her eight fights on knock-outs,and lost six times. Achieng has a record of 13 wins,7 on KO’s and two losses.

Achieng was all smiles after the victory.

“I deserved to win, I had prepared well for the fight under my coach Alfred Analo.Despite the many postponements due to Covid-19 pandemic, I kept on training . I thank my fans,sponsors 22Bet gaming firm and KPBC for organising the event” noted Achieng.

The Kenya three judges gave the winner a narrow win in all rounds with Francis Olando declaring 100-90 win, Daniel Otieno 98-92 and Martin Ndaria 100-90 points.

In attendance were Makadara legislator Hon.George Aladwa,KPBC president Hon.Reuben Ndolo,22Bet marketing Manager Nelson Oyugi, and prominent Boxers including Zarika Mohamed and Olympiad former champion Rayton Okwiri among others dignitaries.
