A Nakuru Family Of Four Buried In Single Casket Following Arson Attack

A family of four, who were burned beyond recognition during an arson attack in Nakuru County, was aid to rest in a single casket at Denderu village.

Alice Njeri, 32, and her three children aged 9, 6 and 3 were burned alive at Kahuho village in Elburgon Sub-County on Friday last week.

The family’s man is alleged to have perpetrated the attack but he has since been arrested and arraigned in court to answer for his crimes.

According to John Muraya, the deceased’s kin, the family opted to bury the four in a single casket since their bodies could barely be recognized.

Murang’a County offices destroyed by fire

Property worth millions of shillings was today destroyed after fire burnt down a building housing several governments’ offices.

The fire affected an office block housing departments of Youth, Sports, Culture, Social services, Adult education, Women Enterprise Fund and National Council for Persons with Disabilities.

The inferno is said to have started at the office of adult education then spread to other offices before the county fire brigade responded.

Murang’a county disaster management officer, Bilha Wanjiru said they got alert and dispatched two fire engines to the scene.

“We tried to contain the fire but unfortunately we ran out of water. Our vehicles were forced to go back to our fire offices to get more water as there is no water head-drop near the offices,” added Wanjiru.

She observed that more destruction happened when the fire engines went to get more water saying in some offices there were tyres and cooking gas cylinders which prompted the fire to spread fast.

Odinga Vows to Jail All Corrupt Leaders, warns Ruto of political tsunami

ODM leader Raila Odinga vowed to jail leaders who stole from public coffers when elected to State House in the 2022 General Elections.

Speaking at the Thika Stadium Saturday the former Prime Minister claimed that some leaders have stolen from public coffers in the past and need to be brought to book.

Odinga opined that some of the public servants in Kenya should be in prison for the crimes they have committed against the Kenyan public.

On the other hand, Odinga has warned Deputy President William Ruto’s hustler nation movement to prepare for a political hurricane that will sweep him away in August.

Raila said his Azimio La Umoja movement which he said brings together all Kenyans will win the presidency in the August 9, General Election.

“I had predicted that it will be Tsunami but now we have a hurricane that will confuse Tangatanga,” Raila said.

‘Umekuwa kwa serikali miaka nane. Unasema eti handshake ndio imefanya kazi ikakwama. Kazi imekushinda, toka wacha Baba akuonyeshe!’ Raila further hit out at Ruto.
