Otile Brown, Kelly Ochieng accused of conning American-based Kenyan promoter 600k

Published

Kenyans in the diaspora will always pay an arm and a leg to have one of them go and perform live in a concert.

Kenyan singer Otile Brown has always been one of those musicians who pay big bucks to go and watch live on stage in the United States every year. He has had a series of US tours over the past years with different promoters handling his concert tours.

In August 2022, Otile Brown embarked on his US tour that saw him perform in 15 states including but not limited to Los Angeles where he performed at the LA Sevens Rugby 2022 after Parties on Saturday, August 27, Houston, Kansas City, ATL, Minneapolis, New Jersey, DC, Pittsburgh and eventually Texas where he was scheduled to perform on September 2 as per an agreement signed between him, Kelly Ochieng and another promoter by the name of Willy.

The ’Just In Love’ crooner made it to Texas but together with Kelly Ochieng refused to honor the agreement they had with promoter Willy and ended up performing and pocketing all the cash without compensating a pre-payment of $5000 US dollars made by Texas based promoter Willy.

It turns out this has been the trend in most states they toured and not only is Kelly Ochieng refusing to honor the contracts but he is also confirming that the contracts signed were fake as reported by promoter Willy,

“I managed to get hold of Kelly at Afrika Fusion in Dallas on September 2nd when Otile Brown performed under Frakaz Entertainment and he totally refused to recognize the fact that we had an agreement that I pay him $5000 upfront to help them facilitate his expenses. I didn’t even care about the profits anymore, all I wanted back was my investment,” narrates promoter Willy.

He continues, “My efforts to get compensated have only been met with nothing but lies, insults and disrespect.”

Kelly Ochieng in a series of Facebook posts has since responded to promoter Willy’s claims saying all agreements were signed and sealed on behalf of Otile Brown by his manager Noriega.

A section of Mount Kenya leaders have come out strongly to stand with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Led by KARIUKI kiruga they said

“We are saddened by a section of politicians who have been showing sheer disrespect for our former president Uhuru Kenyatta. It’s utter disrespect to call for Uhuru Kenyatta to be arrested the way Ndindi Nyoro, Kimani Ichungwa and the rest. These are the leaders orchestrating disunity in the region instead of uniting the region.

We lost a leader who was caring and had a vision for this country especially through the one man, one vote one shilling.

Mike Makarina noted

“I’m urging Mount Kenya people to stand in solidarity and defend one of their own. Why are we being told to insult our kingpin whilst other communities heap loads of respect for their leaders. We are urging his excellency the President to embrace dialogue in a bid to save our country from chaos and disorder.

Makarina also decried taxing the persons with disabilities. He also decried lack of inclusion in the list of Cabinet administrative secretaries.
